Essential Ideas of the Spiritual View

  1. All of our problems come from a misunderstanding of what is good in life.
  2. The good of life is the expression of spiritual qualities such as clarity, joy, love, beauty, harmony, peace, assurance, and gratitude.
  3. We are joyful when we are grateful for the good that already is.
  4. Mental freedom is possible when we give up our thoughts of what should be and what should not be and what we want and what we don’t want.
  5. Good is available everywhere, all the time. We just need to look for it.
  6. If we give up wanting, we can have a good life.
  7. In the space between our thoughts, there is always a good idea available.
  8. Experiences are neither random nor predeter-mined, but rather momentary expressions of either personal thoughts or spiritual ideas.
  9. Problems are opportunities to identify, understand and clarify our thoughts and be receptive to good ideas.
  10. The healing of our problems comes from spiritual understanding.
